Alumni Focus - Dr. Isaac Martinez '91

Dr. Isaac Martinez '91 graduated from the University of Arizona in 1995 with a degree in Psychology and stayed in Tucson to obtain his medical degree in 1999. Since then, Dr. Martinez has been very active in the medical community and has dedicated his life to the health and wellness of others.

In the early stages of his career, Dr. Martinez helped start Acclaimed Internal Medicine which was a group that oversaw a wide variety of medical professionals with an emphasis on hospitalist physician management and program development. AIM would end up becoming the largest hospitalist group in Phoenix's east valley. Later on, Dr. Martinez decided to further his expertise at Cigna Medical Group. He currently serves as the Senior Medical Director for Impatient Trend Management and Core Case Management where his core focus is doctor oversight and reviewing impatient cases.

During his time as an undergrad, Dr. Martinez served as Gamma-Rho's philanthropy chair as well as served as an advocate for health and wellness in the Greek community. He is still involved with the chapter in this regard and enjoys being outdoors whether that's hiking, biking, swimming, running, or scuba diving.

He gives the following advice to any current or future undergraduates: "Stay tight with the brotherhood, they will have your back for the rest of your life. Having that resource will open many doors for you. Your brothers will always be around even during the lowest points of your life."
