Ryan Schneider – Training For The Kids

After seeing the philanthropic activities that fellow brothers Ward Andrews ‘94, Rusty Carter ’94 and Jeff Klinger ‘94, have engaged in, Ryan Schneider ‘93 decided he’d do likewise and marry his personal passions to his desire to pursue a greater good.

The story in his words:

As I prepare for my third Ironman (2.4 mile swim, 112-mile bike, 26.2 marathon), I realize that I can put all the miles I'm training to better use. So, for every mile I train from March 5, 2012 to May 5, 2012 -- the day I take on one of the toughest Ironman courses in North America -- I will personally donate $1 to Starlight Children's Foundation. My employer, Insomniac Games, is matching and doubling my $1 per mile donation.

I anticipate training 1,000 miles in the next two months.

Starlight’s mission is to better the quality of life for children with serious illness and life-altering injuries – from diagnosis through the entire course of medical treatment.

I'd like to work together to bring Starlight Fun Centers to children's hospitals – the more Fun Centers, the better, of course!

  • $5,000 will cover the sponsorship of one Fun Center.
  • $10,000 will cover the sponsorship of two Fun Centers.
  • $15,000 will cover the sponsorship of three Fun Centers .

Will you join me in bringing endless hours of fun and distraction to hospitalized children? Click on the donate button above to get these Fun Center wheels rolling and to keep me moving. And please spread the word with friends and family. Though I'll be reminding you regularly haha.
